Thoughts on Today’s Verse…
This word “what the Spirit said to the churches” appears repeatedly in the Book of Revelation. What does it mean? And what does “the hidden manna” refer to? Recall the story of Exodus: God rained manna from heaven, and manna is their bread.
God has also ever said that He is the very bread of life, and man shall not live by bread alone, but all the words uttered by the mouth of God. So, does the hidden manna refer to the word of the Lord Jesus? No, for the word of Lord Jesus is not hidden, but have already told man. And is the hidden manna the new word that God will express in the last days? Is that what the Holy Spirit says to the churches? Then how will the Holy Spirit speak to us? Everyone of us has ears, but we can only hear the voice of the material world. When it comes to the voice from the spiritual world, we can neither hear nor understand. For example, if God speaks in heaven, it’s like thunder to us. What the Holy Spirit says to the churches should be the words spoken by the Spirit when He comes to the world. Just like the Lord Jesus, what He said is the utterances of the Holy Spirit and the voice of the Spirit of God. The Lord Jesus also said, God’s sheep hear God’s voice. No one could recognize He is our God from His appearance outwardly. Yet from His words, we can tell He is Christ, and God become flesh. Then in this way, can we recognize His voice when He arrives among man to speak in the last days? To know God begins from His voice. God’s word is the hidden manna bestowed by God upon man.

O God! For many times, You told us that all who has an ear should hear what the Spirit says to churches. It’s clear that how important the word is for us. I’d love to seek and listen to Your words. May You open my spiritual eyes, so I won’t define You within my own notions and imaginations. Your word is the hidden manna, our bread of life. Amen.
