UNHRC Side Event: Focusing on The Church of Almighty God & Situation of Religious Freedom in China



On March 1, 2018, during the 37th session of the Human Rights Council at the United Nations in Geneva, the Coordination of the Associations and Individuals for Freedom of Conscience (CAP LC) organized a Side Event on the denial of religious freedom in China and the case of The Church of Almighty God. The event was introduced and coordinated by Mr. Thierry Valle, the president of CAP LC.

     On November 19, 2017, the French Jaurès Team of Amnesty International, a long-time human rights watchdog organization in various countries, held a running activity called Run for Freedom (Courir pour la Liberté) at the Buttes-Chaumont Park (Parc des Buttes Chaumont) in Paris, aiming to call on the Chinese and Turkish authorities to immediately cease persecution of its Turkey chairman, Taner Kılıç, Chinese women's rights activist Su Changlan, and nine other Turkish human rights activists.
